Numero Uno - Cars

I’m going to be honest with you; I haven’t a clue what I’m doing when it comes to blogging.
Well that’s sort of a lie, I know what a blog is, and obviously if you’re reading this I know how to create a blog. What I mean is that when it comes to actually writing a blog, I’m a little bit apprehensive, I’m not really sure what to write, or how witty/funny/sarcastic I should be without coming across as mildly unhinged. So I’m just going to go with it. Please be patient.

I’m planning on blogging about the random things that are currently going on in my life, as it’s pretty crazy at the moment. I’m twenty-one *cue sobs at the loss of my teenage years* and am three short, and scarily fast months away from graduating uni,  don’t ask me where the last three years of my life have gone as I have not got a clue! Last time I checked I was a grumpy 18 year old, moaning about coursework. And now, I’m a grown up, and have to do grown up adult things like get a job, pay taxes, start thinking about houses, and bills, and insurance, and all sorts of exciting (terrifying) events like that.

My current grown up predicament is my car. I LOVE my car, and I mean seriously, totally, completely love it. Problem is, it eats all my money. And I mean all of it, if I’m not putting petrol in it, I’m buying oil, or replacing the tires, or renewing the tax, booking it in for an MOT, fixing a sensor, replacing lightbulbs (that’s a favourite one, my car seems to go through lightbulbs at lightning speed) you get the picture. Now all of that is fine, the sort of thing I expected when I first started driving, but I’m a student. A student with no money, who somehow managed to schedule my Tax, Mot and insurance all within 8 weeks of each other. Genius.
Huston, I have a problem. Car money due date, just so happens to be 30 long days before my Student loan comes in.

In the spirit of being honest, I’m being a tiny bit over dramatic, I have a job; I have money, well for the first two weeks after pay day anyway. So it’s not the end of the world, BUT I’m going to have start paying my car insurance by, hushed tones please, direct debit, shocking I know. Thing is I don’t get paid on a fixed date, meaning I’m going to have to be a grown up and start making sure that I keep track of when my Insurance will come out and when I get paid, no more only having to get to pay day, no more spending like a student. Oh no, I’ve entered the world of adult hood and money management!

Scary, times my friends scary times. Now I’ll leave you to your ponderings as I go call my financial advisor.
Muuuum!

Until my next crisis,
